Uncovered Villages and National Highways of Meghalaya

The agreement was signed with M/s Bharti Hexacom Limited (M/s BHL) on 04.09.2020. The project envisages 4G-based mobile coverage by installing 878 mobile towers in 1164 uncovered villages and 11 mobile towers along national highways at a cost of Rs 726.65 crore.

Status so far

Sept 2020 Order: As per the Sept 2020 order all 374 sites have been installed and commissioned covering 549 villages and 3 National Highway (NH).

Dec 2022 Order: Further, additional 723 villages of Meghalaya are also proposed to be covered by Commissioning of 528 mobile towers under this scheme at the cost of Rs. 167.59 Cr. Implementation work in progress.
